Vinny Romano

Advisor – Data Operations Research Information and Digital Solutions

Vinny Romano is currently leading the Data Operations area in Research Information and Digital Solutions at Eli Lilly and Company. His work includes partnering with scientific researchers, information technology colleagues, and the external academic and industry community to ensure that Lilly proprietary and external open data assets are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). As a client facing key leader within the Research IDS group, he focuses on all aspects of curating Research Data – acquisition, ingestion, inventory, annotation, integration, storage, security & access, integrity, and documentation.

Vinny attended Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) obtaining both a B.S and M.S in Analytical Chemistry. He has also obtained certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Covey Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) Coach. Throughout a 20 year career at Eli Lilly and Company, Vinny has held numerous strategy and operations roles with a common theme of using data to drive decision-making. His hobbies include board gaming, coaching youth sports, and fishing. Vinny and his wife, Angie, live in Indianapolis with their two children – Vincent and Gianna.
